I am not sure if this is the correct forum; however, I think someone culd provide some direction for me. I have just installed Exchange 2003 SP2 on new hardware, and I currently have my Exchange 2000 SP3 server existing in my network. My current Exchange 2000 server is also acting as a DC, this won't be the case soon as my new Exchange 2003 server will be a member server. The issue I am having is that when I go to a DC within my network and create a new user, I am never prompt with the Exchange Tasks option, like I should with Exchange running in the network. The weird part is that this has always been the case, even with my Exchange 2000 server. Then only way I could create an xchange mailbox for a new user was to create the user on the Exchagne box that was also acting as a DC. If I tried any other DC in the network, the new user setup would never prompt me for the Exchagne Tasks option. What is could be casuing this issue, and how to I begin to troubleshoot?

You need to install Exchange Admin tools to get the Exchange options in ADUC.

I guess that is the same as the Exchange System Management Tools? So, I have to have IIS running on at least one of my DC's in order to manage users and their mailboxes in ADUC? Is there any other way to create mailboxes and connect users to the mailboxes without doing the above option?

You are correct about the Exchange System Management Tools being the same, and also correct about needing IIS running on the server as a prerequsite. If you don't want to do this (I have this same issue), your Exchange server installation will include the ADUC.

Have you thought about installing the tools on your workstation? Install Windows Management tools, then Exchange and you can do everything from your desk.
