Same problem here.
I did a clean install directly from the SP1 source leading to the porblem described. I verified it by installing from the RTM release on a testsystem where the problem did not occur. Did you fix the problen meanwhile?

it was mainly communication problem with DC and GC.
run DCDIAG and NETDIAG to verify communication.
try installation with setup switch /prepareAd
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288907.aspx
and check setup log.

Strange.
Did a setspn -l and the principal is definetly missing.
Serious that the SP1 install fails whereas the RTM install works.
I did a /prepareAd in both cases.
I will restore the images before Exchange installation of DC and Exchange server and see if the problem is reproducable. What it is best to look for in the setup logs after installation? They are quite to large to read eversy line IMHO.

first check communication with GC and DC with netdiag /fix and dcdiag /fix
then check logs for failure events.
sure SPN things related to AD and GC access.

dcdiag test passed without errors.
netdiag test shows one error releated to kerberos, but that's normal when running the 32-bit supporttools on x64.

Is it normal that Exchange installation shows one warning in Hub-Transport prerequisites: "No SMTP or sendconnector with addressspace of * found. Maybe transmission of messages to the Internet may not function properly".
This one is not shown when installing Exchange RTM version.

Did a clean install in the reimaged environment with same result. Install directly from SP1 sources produces this error from RTM media did not.

Strange.
Will add the principals manually and see what happens.
Everything else seems to operate normally.

Even more strange is that the other principals created by Exchange setup like echangeMDB and son on are present.

grubi

It's even getting better.
After maually adding the missing principals BestPractisAnalyzer is satisfied and did not show additional messages. However eventlog still shows that those principals cannot be registered on startup, because the domian is missing or no connection could be established.

check DNS and make sure that Dcdiag from exchange
dcdiag.exe /s:<domain controller>
and see the result and make sure that that DC passes all tests.
