Hey ... first post.
I did a search through here and couldn't find a solution that worked for me.
We're running Exchange 2003 on a system that, while connected to our internal network, is not on on the Internet. This means that each Outlook client has 2 accounts installed. A mail account (john@domain.com) and an Exchange server account (john@domain.local).

Whenever we send e-mail, things are easy. The default account (john@domain.com) gets used and messages go through fine because our individual systems are on the internet. When we send internally, things are also fine - we select the exchange account (john@domain.local) and email TO an exchange account (jane@domain.local) and no problems. Obvious problems occur when going from an exchange account to the outside (john@domain.local to user@example.com) as the exchange server isn't on the net.

Here's the dilema: When a user creates a calendar event and invites another atendee, it sends "From John Doe [john@domain.com] On Behalf Of John Doe [john@domain.local]". That's not too bad, but when the atendee accepts it, it sends the acceptance from the default account [the .com] to the internal address [the .local] and because the server has no access to the net, this doesn't go through, and the user gets an error.

I've checked the "On behalf of" settings for permissions, but no user has other accounts set to allow to send on behalf them

I'm now stumped on this one and am turning to the net. I'm fairly new to this exchange world, so please go easy on me... but I'll answer anything I can to get some help on this one.

Thanks.

Edited slightly for clarity ... I've spent another few hours on this with no luck.

If anyone can offer me anything, even something little, that would be great.
