Hello Experts, I wonder if it's possible to migrate cached global address book from Exchange 2003 on PC with Windows XP and Outlook 2003 to an stand-alone PC with Vista and Outlook 2007. So recreation of a new OST file is not possible. Is there a way .OAB & .OST files can be migrated to new PC? I have copied the files (one OST and six OAB) to Outlook folder ...AppData\Local\Microsoft\outlook but they are not recognized by Outlook 2007. Thanks for your help in advance.

I don't know if they are the same but hope they are compatible.

OST and OAB files are not part of Exchange. They are part of Outlook. First, wouldn't it be simpler to install Outlook 2003 on the stand-alone PC? Second, if you don't get any clear answers here, you should search for an Outlook forum instead.

The challenge is to find out a way for it. I don't think OL2007 is different from OL2003 in architecture. If I downgrade to OL2003, it's still different in OS and may next suggestion be downgrading to XP. I have registered my question here too: http://office-outlook.com/outlook-forum/index.php/m/433773/#msg_433773 for those who want to follow the outcome. Thanx.

Here's a thought. Why not create a Vista/OL2k7 workstation that is connected to your network, have it create the OST/OAB, then copy the files to the stand-alone?
