We have an existing exchange 2003 system. We are moving to exchange 2007 and I have just installed the first server. It's client access on server 2008. The schema has been updated with EX2K7SP1. The client access server has a clean installation with update rollup 4. No HT or MB servers or roles are installed yet.

When I go to the CAS server /Exchange virtual directory, (because my mailbox is still on ex2003), i can login with the form based logon with no issue. But when it gets past that point, the page hangs with no images, and no messages. If I use outlook light i can see emails but no images.

Any clues?

I would suspect that the authentication settings on the backend server aren't correct. Most likely anonymous isn't enabled on the /exchweb virtual directory.

Also make sure Integrated Authentication is enabled on the /exchange directory on your Exchange 2003 BE. It's needed to allow a CAS to proxy to an Exchange 2003 BE.
