Hello there. We have a fairly major issue! We have a HP Prolient DL380, with MSA1000 SAN attached running Win 2k3 Standard, with Exchange 2003 enterprise SP2. We have two storage groups, one called general containing 4 databases, and an IT storage group contacting 2 databases. Over the weekend the Information Store service has stopped, along with the backup exec 11d remote agent. IS was restarted and tried to mount the databases in the general storage group, they wouldnt mount. Reviewed the event log and found the following error: Information Store (4440) General Storage Group: Database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error -300. quickly followed by the following: Error 0xfffffed4 starting Storage Group /DC=#####/DC=#######/CN=Configuration/CN=Services/CN=Microsoft Exchange/CN=#######-email/CN=Administrative Groups/CN=First Administrative Group/CN=Servers/CN=SRV24/CN=InformationStore/CN=General Storage Group on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store. Storage Group - Initialization of Jet failed. (some parts hashed for identity purposes!) I have someone else working on the problem who has tried the usual eseutil tools, last night he ran a restore of the databases, replaying the transaction logs upto 19:00 hrs on Friday which is about an hour before this problem occurred, however, we have the same problem. The only changes that have taken place on this machine are as follows: 18:00 friday - Backup Exec Remote Agent upgraded from 10d to v11d 22:45 Friday - A disk had failed in the SAN, the raid controller (running raid 1+0 and a hot spare) build in the hot spare. This completed at about 17:00 and I can in a removed the failed disk and replaced with a new one. The array then started to build back onto the new disk. Incidentally our databases are on one raid 1+0 array and the logs on another 1+0 array, but on the same san. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Ideally I dont want to be restoring from Thursday Nights backup and having to tell people that they have lost a days work! The exchange server has been rebooted a few times, as have both our DC's mainly just to rule out any security or authentication issues! We have plenty of free space, and there are no 'disk' errors in the event log. Many Thanks Rob
