Hi there, I'm desperate for some advice, hopefully someone can help? We are a small franchise company with a stand alone network, we have an installation of SBS 2003 and are experiencing DNS and email problems since setting up our fqdn as example; myname.com. We think this is because a server at the HQ franchise site is hosting the domain name myname.com. Currently, when an email is sent to @myname.com, DNS routes it to the HQ site and our pop3 server downloads any messages addressed to area@myname.com. My question is - can we set up our server with the same fqdn myname.com and still be able to send out messages from @myname.com to internal and external users? Does this prove problems because we are not listed as mail.myname.com on external DNS servers? Should we be calling our domain area-myname.com? Many thanks, James

u should be fine sending mail out from other sites, as long as the relay u are using allows your domain to be relayed.
