I am slowly moving pop3 users over to rpc/https on our exchange 2007 server and ran into a problem where one user cannot send mail externally.  Whenever he tries sending an email to the outside it gets stuck in his Outbox (Outlook 2007) and never sends.

I originally migrated this user by exporting his pop3 .pst, creating a rpc/https profile, and finally importing the exported .pst.

He is connected to the exchange server and can send internally.  Other rpc/https users can send to the outside just fine so I'm nearly sold on this being a client issue, but I don't know specifically what could stop external mail flow.

Anyone else run into this problem or have a solution?

Another important point:  I upgraded all Outlook Anywhere users from Outlook 2003 to 2007 and noticed on some boards that using contacts created in 2003 can cause messages to be stuck in the Outbox.  Not sure if this is my problem yet.

Problem resolved:

Turns out when upgrading to Outlook 2007 the user's contacts were corrupted in the sense that the email field was stripped from each contact.

I moved the corrupt contacts to a different folder (cut/paste), then reimported just the contacts to the default location.

In the future I'll try upgrading users to Outlook 2007 first, then change their pop3 accounts over to rpc/https.
