5.5 to 2003 mail undeliverable

We migrated from 5.5 to 2003 and everything seemed to go smoothly. However I moved my mail box over to 2003 for testing and I am unable to send or recieve any email from 5.5 users. If they are on 2003 I can send to them and recieve from them only. Is there anything I should be looking for. I get the following response from administrator:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

NAME on 6/7/2004 12:40 PM
The e-mail address could not be found. Perhaps the recipient moved to a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the address. Check the address and try again.

Any help would be appreciated

I am having this same issue with a EX2k to EX2k migration. I can receive external email, I just cannot receive internal email. I get a NDR with status 5.1.1.

Make sure on your smtp virtual server properties that your IP address settings are set to "all unasigned."

Yes on all 4 of my Exchange servers they are set to All unassigned.

This is really weird.

Let me give some more info on my problem.

I have a Frontend backend cfg.

I removed my old frontend and replaced it find. Mail has been working great.

I brought up the second Backend and began to move some test boxes across. I checked everything but internal email. It receives external and sends emails to anyone fine.

Now, I get a NDR when a user on the old backend server sends to a user on the new backend server.
The NDR comes from our frontend server.

Any suggestions?
