Okay, i goofed. I installed a new domian and exchange server and everything seems fine. I run the BPA, and I get a critical error,

Active Directory domain 'OLMS' has an unrecognized Exchange signature. Current DomainPrep version: 12639.

When you read the posts, I discovered I did not do the preinstallation steps for preparing the domain found here,

I simply did not do them. I have since done them and everything showed up as completed with no errors, and you can even see the items that Microsoft references as a way to verify the steps at the end of thier article. Howerver, the issue still shows up when I run a new BPA scan.

Any thoughts on what I can do to fix this? I don't want to start over because I already have users running on the new server.

Hi Jony,

Which version of Exchange did you install. There was a bug in Exchange 2010 RTM which caused this error. It is fixed in Exchange 2010 SP1, for reference see this site:
