Hi guys,
First let me say this site and what it does for the MS Exch community is great!

Ok... back to business,

I have a Win2003 server AD domain that is set to: ogden.setpointusa.com

I set it up this way because I have a Linux server serving DNS and email for the parent domain: setpointusa.com and wanted to keep things separate.

Now, I have a new Dell PE1800 server w/ Win2003 server and I need to know the best way to go about adding it to AD and serving email from it with MS Exch 2003.

Should I rename the AD to the parent domain 'setpointusa.com?'

I want to avoid having to rebuild all my users profiles on their local PCs.

Shouldn't I be able to add my new PE1800 to the current AD and serve email for the parent 'setpointusa.com' and other domains (we have 2 other domains we host email for) without changing anything?

Will I lose functionality by doing this??

Third, I read in Tony Redmond's book that I shouldn't/can't load Exch 2003 on a server also acting as a AD controller. What's your take?

Thank you for your time and reply.

Best regards,
Chuck

Well, I deployed my Exch 2003 server without a AD domain rename. Have my internet domains up and running and things are going well.

I do have an issue with OWA. I'll post it as a new topic.
