Greetings all,

A fast question. I belive the subject says it all though....
Is it posible to make a policy, so that a user can delete a mail on a smartphone/pda and still keep it on the Exchange server when he access it using a full outlook client?

Yours Sincerely,
Bendji

this is not possible as Outlook via Activesync is just another Outlook connection into exchange.

Hence whatever you do on the WM device via Activesyn will be reflected in the exchange mailbox and will be noticed on Outlook on your desktop/laptop.

Only other thing i could think off is that you create another mailbox, setup in exchange to copy all messages to this mailbox also.

Than sync the activesync device against that mailbox.

The user can delete as much as he likes but it will all be in the first mailbox.

Obviously he will haavto re-read all his mail in the original account and items he sends will end up in the new account only (but you can write a rule for that....)

At the end of the day Activesync with Outlook on WM devices is nothing more than any other Outlook access method into Exchange... hence what ever you do had to be reflected back into the mailbox.
