Need information on archiving solution and real world opinions. I see Gartner information and they have KVS leading, however we would like to know who is the better candidate. Has any one used the Legato Emailxtender? Those would probably be our top two, but are open to opinions.

It all depends on what your needs and requirements are. There are several factors to consider, Size, amount of messages, storage system, type of archiving policy,

You should look at all of these very carefully. The final factor I would look at is how well does it intergrate with your current system from a users perspective.

Have a look at Cryoserver too if you're needing compliance/forensics/security in addition to simple archiving. They get a mention in the new Gartner "Magic Quadrant for Financial Compliance Process Management Software, 2005".

Check out mimosa systems. Looks like they just win Product of the Year from Tech Target (SearchExchange).

I have personal experience with KVS Vault. I've even gone through the Administrators class when I was in NYC. Overall, a really awesome product. I really like some of the features they added into 6.0 that were really missing from 5.0.

What in particular are you looking to know?
