Hello, we have 3 new CAS servers which we want to make live. Our current windows mobile devices (mix of 5 and 6) point to 2003 front end servers. I want to move the service over - but I have read artciles that say you must have autodiscover listed in your certificate before you do so? Currently we have a trusted certificate with the prefix owa. which is used on the front end servers and is installed on the CAS servers, but this is just a single domain certificate (not a UCC) so doesn't inlucde the autodiscover domain prefix. Assuming everything else is configured correctly, can I move this service over - or is it likely to break?

Autodiscover only works on Windows Mobile 6.1. It does not work on older versions. Saying that, for Exchange and Outlook 2007 to operate correctly, you should have a SAN/UC certificate with the autodiscover.domain.com URL in the certificate, along with the server's real name and FQDN. The common name should be your preferred name for remote access - which is what you enter in to the devices - so owa.domain.com While Exchange 2007 can use a single name SSL certificate, it does REQUIRE that your external DNS provider supports SRV records, which many of them do not. Simon.
