Backups on Exchange 2000 - 15.Aug.2000 3:57:00 PM
Hello, I have been trying to get a full backup of a Exchange 2000 DB. I'm currently using Legato's Exchange 2000 Suite and I getting Premission errors. Is there any other Software out there is capable of backing Exchange 2000?? Please let me know

Haven't tried any 3rd party backup products at the moment. Win2K's NT Backup does the job without any problems.

Helpful Hint:

If you're doinga restore and there's only one tape in the save set, make sure you check the 'Last Backup Set' check box. If you don't you won't be able to mount the database as the Transaction logs won't have been replayed.

There is an ESEUTIL /CC command that is supposed to force the logs to replay but I couldn't get it to work on RC2

I highly recommend looking at Vertias Software. Backup Exec V8 supports Windows 2000 (all versions) and they are releasing v8.x in 2 months that will support Exchange 2000.
