Hi there we recently moved away from Small Business Server 2003 (Exchange 2003) to Exchange 2010.

The migration has seem to stop access for our BlackBerry users, thankfully just a few users. But unfortunately a few extra important users...

Our iPhone users are able to use Exchange 2010 remotely and internally. However, I can't get any of our BlackBerry's to work. I'm trying to configure the accounts as OWA mail accounts on the BlackBerry via BIS but I get the error message "Cannot connect to email server or invalid server name: Please verify the Outlook® Web Access URL. If the error persists contact <domain.com>." I did some reearch and it sounded like this was the issue >> http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04804 However, that article metnions systems utilizing ISA server, which we do not have deployed, so I'm questioning it's application to us?

Is anyone else having these issues or know what I could try? As for the posted BB resolution, a mail forwarder rule is not a option and I really hate to make this into POP3 access for these phones.

Couple of questions...is the SSL certificate trusted by BIS...i.e. is is a commercial certificate.

Secondly are you using the correct authentication type on OWA and BIS...i.e. if it username and password on OWA it should be the same on BIS.... if its email and password on OWA it should be the same on BIS.

iphone uses ActiveSync so this is not affected by what is experienced by BIS.

BIS basically emulated an OWA user and connects multiples times each minutes to check for new mail.

No, it's not a 3rd party certificate (not commercial).

Well I'm using the same authentication as OWA, AFAIK. I'm pretty confident I'm doing it correctly, because I actually got it to work on our BlackBerry Curve, but the other models (BlackBerry 8830's) are not working.

We have a couple Droid users who cannot connect as well. We have one Windows mobile phone that can connect but only sporadically. The only phone that seems work fine is the iPhone...If that helps

Thanks!

Does OWA working fine from the internet?

Do all your devices trust the Certificate's RootCA... note that the iphone can be set to trust it when it starts to Activesycn, while the other devices would have to have the RootCA installed on the device itsself.

Check the authentication menthod you have applied in the ECP.

Yes OWA via the web works fine for all users.

I haven't installed any certificates on any handhelds.

OWA authentication is forms-based with username only.

Thanks again!
