Hello all.

I've been surfing the net to find some info about brick level backups in Exchange 2010.

Currently we run Exchange 2003 and as normal we backup up the Exchange db and we also use MAPI to do a brick level backup.

However, the brick level back takes 16 hours to complete!

Hence I am thiking of getting rid of brick level backup alltogether when we move to exhange 2010.

We would like to have the ability to restore single mailboxes still though.

Is there a new feature or mechanism that allows you to do single mailbox restored in a clear easy way using the main Exchange db backup? We don't really like exmerge.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

hi mate,

Exchange 2010 Database has been improved alot no doubt on this compare to performance from all prospects including the backup and restore.

For brick level backup : You can check with third party vendor to understand the product strategy and compalibility and performnace in terms of association with Exchange 2010
