I put in the first Exchange 2007 and decommissionded the 2003 Exchange. The 2003 had some issues and some of the issues where with Public Folders. I synced the public folders to the 2007 and I even created a new Public Folder Database. The issue is I can not see the Public Folders from Outlook 2007 I CAN see them and get into them from the OWA but NOT the Outlook Client. I am really in a jam as this was not part of the plan and here we are on Monday Morning! Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Which Outlook client do you use ? If Outlook 2007 press the "folder" icon at the bottom of the screen to view the folder list. Here the public folder should be visible.

Sorry I was not very clear. I can see the folder PUBLIC FOLDERS but when I click on it I get an error " The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange has failed" BUT as I said I can see and use these folders through OWA. this is the same on all Outlook 2007 clients. I have removed my account and created a new one but still no better??

Found the solution. If anyone does a migrate from Exch 2003 to 2007 and then decomissions the 2003 and the Public Folders do not open on the new server thry this: One the Exchange Server 2007 go to the Server Configuration and then go to properties of all of the databases both private and public one at a time and then go to the Client Settings tab. Read the path and make sure the system is not looking for your OLD server. Hit the browse the find the new Exchange server. This will clear this issue right up. Strange that everything worked in OWA but not the Outlook Client??
