I am looking to implement a geographically dispersed Exchange 2007 CCR solution. I'm looking at 2 Edge Servers, 2 Hub Transport/Client Access/Unified Messaging/File Share Witness servers, and 2 Mailbox Servers. Both locations have seperate Internet connections and we have bundled T-1s between the locations. My question is, if we lose our site here, do we just have our ISP reroute the pointer records for our mail server to point to the other mail server so that we still receive incoming mail? And will the Hub Transport/Client Access/Unified Messaging/File Share Witness servers automatically pick up the traffic since they are on the same subnet? We are looking at Disaster Recovery, whether it be just one server crashing, or losing an enitre site. Thank You

You can pre-provision the FSW on the HT in data center B, but you'd still need to update DNS and do things like /forcequorum in order to bring up the cluster on node B. Also, there are other things to consider in the scenario where you've got both CCR nodes in the same subnet, but the HT, CAS, etc, in data center B are on a different subnet, i.e. you'd need to move the HT, CAS, etc to the same subnet as the CCR node B, or perhaps change the CMS site membership to match the HT and CAS roles in data center B. There's a lot to think about here.
