Hello!

We have the need to stop the Calendar reminders to be silent should the user choose so. So on their Outlook client itself they have removed the 15 minute reminder notification. When you send them a meeting invite it still enforces the 15 minute reminder.

SO what we did was follow the outlined article here:
http://www.slipstick.com/exchange/meeting-reminders-are-set-for-the-recipient/

For the longest time it worked, until we did a Windows Server patch last week and rebooted the Exchange servers. Now all of a sudden users are getting reminders regardless of the settings. I double checked and the settings from the article are still in place.

Any Ideas?

Server - Windows 2012 R2
Exchange - Exchange 2013 CU 9

Try changing settings to something else and then use same settings as in the article. Last resort solution is to uninstall the patch for now, as MS is known for making patches with bad side effects and then fixing them.

Good idea!

So I tried turning it from false, to true. Then re-add the false command. No dice. I then tried it at the mailbox level running this command Set-MailboxCalendarConfiguration -Identity Peter -RemindersEnabled $false and still does not enforce it.

The only thing I can do I guess is roll back the patches and see what happens.

Hmmm

So I looked at 3 of my users and they are all set to False yet get reminders when their outlook is set to not set.

CalendarUpdateNotification : False
NextDays : 1
CalendarUpdateSendDuringWorkHour : False
MeetingReminderNotification : False
MeetingReminderSendDuringWorkHour : False
