Can't change password from within OWA - 6.May2002 12:59:00 AM

The change password option within OWA doesn't work. It just pops open a window that says...

"Cannot find server or DNS error"

It gives this error for all accounts and it doesn't matter where I connect from. I tried from the server itself. Didn't work.

Please help

You need to create the IISadmpwd virtual directory on your IIS - it sounds like

Pull up Q267596 on how to setup the ability for users to change OWA passwords

I am also trying to get this to work, and cannot. I have followed all the steps mentioned in all the KB articles on creating the virtual directory, granting the correct permissions, installing a certificate, etc. If I go to https://server.domain.com/iisadmpwd/aexp.htr I am able to change my password. However, when I do it through OWA, it does not work. This is an absolute career emergency here, so if ANYONE can help or can point me to someone I can pay to solve this problem, I will be grateful. THank you.

I had to edit the htr file and put in some javascript to make this work!
not much of coding !

I'd appreciate if you could send me detail how to tweak .HTR file. I'm unable to get access to https://server.domain.com/iisadmpwd/aexp.htr throuht OWA nor through direct access to this page.
Here is my story:
I've got Exchange Enterprise 2000 with SP3, IIS 5 IIS lock patch, W2k Server SP2, SRP1. In short I've got the latest updates. I followed KB article Q267596 how to create IISADMPWD directory and the rest of the story but no success, I get 404 page every time. The Server is not domain controller and apart from OWA password change everything works fine. I have enabled SSL (128bit) on default website and applied this setting to all subfolders and files including the IISADMPWD directory. Furthermore I changed access to IISADMPWD folder to "anonymous" as it's suggested in the KB doc Q275457.

Would SSL enabled on entire website affect OWA password change?

Any ideas where I�m wrong?

Go to the Knowledgebase article Q268822 it tells you how to alter the HTTP error message with some vbscript to automatically switch to HTTPS allowing you to use SSL and then change the password.
