I have a user who deleted mail from the server into the server's deleted items folder and then emptied it. I had the global setting for deleted mail to stay in the server for two weeks. There was so much mail that he is over the limit and now can't send mail. A few days ago he retreived the deleted mail from the server, and then from OWA told it to delete it permanently, instead of draging it to his .pst on the his harddrive from Outlook 2000. Now his mailbox reads as under the limit in the server and from his properties of his Outlook Today mailbox. He still can't send mail and continues to get warnings about the full mailbox. I changed the setting on his mailbox to raise his size limit. I changed the global setting on the server to keep deleted items 0 days. It hasn't helped. Other than deleting and recreating his mailbox, is there a way to purge it??
