Wow, OK that was it. I deleted 2 connectors that were attatching the servers. Like EX2k3-EX2k7, now it let me run the add/remove.
I am stuck because it says it need the original disk (2003) going to try the one I have from technet. (I didnt install this server).
When I do the uninstall, it says it is running forest prep for 2003, SCARY!!!! I guess it is doing forest prep to remove the server? I hope this doesnt mess with the 2007 server!
Thanks for the tip. Now it seems like it did a half-uninstall. I get this message:
Setup failed while installing sub-component of Windows Active Directory schema update with error code 0xc1037986 (please consult the installation logs for detailed description). You may cancel the installation or try the failed setup again.
Perhaps I have to use AD tools to manually delete some things. Sigh...
I am having a simular issue, I am trying to remove Exchange 2K3 from SBS2K3 and have migrated to Exchange 2010. The only thing under First Administrative Group, routing groups, first routing group, connectors on my SBS box is the POP3 connector manager. Under members I can only see the SBS box and the type is set as master.
Under First Exchange Administrative Group, routing groups, Exchnage Routing group, connectors on the same SBS box is the POP3 connector manager. Under members I can only see the 2010 box and the type is set as master.
The new Exchange box is NOT SBS, nor is SBS in the picture
I feel the difference in master roles may be the issue, but am unclear at this point. Any advice is appreciated
