Hello.
I need some advice please.
I'm currently moving an NT4 domain onto a 2K AD setup for a training centre organisation.

Their Exchange 5.5 sp3 server is on the NT4 PDC
I've built a new W2K server and installed AD.
Users and computers are migrating well.

I have read Amit Zinman's article
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Exchange_2003_Upgrade_Checklist.html

Here are my questions:
1. Do I have to build a new NT4 Member Server, install Exchange 5.5, restore the mailboxes and then upgrate the whole thing to W2K in order to join the new AD network ?

2. Do I have to build a new W2K server and install Exchange 2003 on it and mgrate the old mailboxes ?

3. Can I upgrade the NT4 PDC to W2K server and continue using Exchange 5.5 in the new AD structure?

Any help would be appreciated.

No, you can build it as an W2K server and migrate the mailboxes across.

This would be easier, join Exchange 2003 to the 5.5 Organisation site, then use ADC to enable you to migrate the 5.5 mailboxes to 2003. This is the method I used.

Why stick with the obsolete 5.5? Upgrade to E2K3
would give better results.
