We have several websites and currently exchange is http://www.URL1.com/exchange (default website) but mgmt wants it to be http://www.URL2.com/exchange. Can this be done, and if so where can I find info? Tried searching but no luck. Thanks in advance.

If the www.URL2.com web site is on the same server as www.URL1.com , then you should be able to. If not, then it depends on a lot of things. The most important is that OWA can only be hosted on an Exchange server. You could, of course, just add the DNS name www.URL2.com to the computer that is www.URL1.com , assuming that www.URL2.com does not already point somewhere else. Does www.URL2.com currently point anywhere?

Only 1 exchange box with IIS on it, hosting both websites.

If www.URL2.com already exists, then you will have a problem. You can only use OWA with either the Default Web Site (your existing www.URL1.com/Exchange ), or a dedicated 'Exchange Virtual Server' Web Site (i.e. www.URL3.com - there is no /Exchange on the end, because the site is dedicated to OWA usage).

That's what I thought. The virtual site (www.URL3.com) will have to be a new, registered, and hosted domain where our Exchange resides right? Would a redirected URL work? For example, http://UR[link=http://forums.msexchange.org/http://www.URL3.com]L2.com/Exchange[/link] redirects to http://URL1.com/Exchange? I know if URL2.com ever goes away we would have a problem. What happened is that our company changed it's name from URL1 to URL2 so they want everything to point to URL2.com... Thanks again.

Hard to be sure (this board made such a mess of your URLs), but I think I know what you mean. A redirect will certainly work, but your users will still see www.URL1.com/exchange in their address bar after the redirection.

Gotcha. That will not be a big deal once I explain it. I understand why they requested the change (looks better because it is the new company name) but for the end user it's a LOT more typing hahaha. Old URL is xxxxxx.com and the new one is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com ! hahaha

Don't tell me - two companies merge, so the name is twice as long because they want to keep both parts in.

Close. Same person owns both domains. URL1 is a smaller business, doing different type of work. It is slowly being closed down since owner's focus has changed. He still needs it for historical reasons, old customers, etc but it is confusing for new people.

Hmm. Now here's an interesting thing I just tried, that I didn't expect to work. Do you have IIS6? Right-click your Exchange VDir, and export it to a file, and then do the same with exchweb. Then right-click your second Web site, and import 2 new VDirs from those files. It works here, but I bet it's not officially supported.

Yes, IIS6. ExchangeWEB shows: Name Path Status bin C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\ExchWeb\bin 6.5.6944.0 6.5.7226.0 6.5.7638.1 6.5.7651.25 6.5.7651.9 controls help img themes views Exchange only shows: Name Path Status When I try to "create new VDir (from file)" it looks for xml files by default. Wonder if the .txt files will work?

When you right-click a VDir, and save it's configuration to a file, it always saves it in XML format, even though you may put .txt on the end. If you export exchweb, then it will automatically see all those other subfolders, since they are just subfolders in the file system. The Exchange VDir is a bit 'special', though - it has properties that aren't visible in the IIS Manager GUI, which is why it has to be saved to a file, and then imported (using New -> Virtual Directory from a file). It can't simply be created using the normal New Virtual Directory wizard.
