My company has been running Exchange 2007 for a few months with no complications.  Now we wish to run the CRM 3.0 E-mail router that only works with Exchange 2003.  Has anyone done this? Can I install an Exchange 2003 server into an Exchange 2007 organization? I was unable to find any informmation on this or if there was such a thing as Exchange 2007 native mode

Any advice would be much welcome and appreciated.  Thank you.

If this was a fresh forest and you didn't have any 2003 servers or did not run the 2003 forest and domainprep then no, you cannot add a 2003 server into a 2007 organization.

I had previously had Exchange 2003 servers in this organization, as I had migrated to Exchange 2007 recently. Since this is the case, I can install an Exchange 2003 server into the organization?

Answer is no.

In my test i did where i had exchange 2003 server information existing in my AD and routing information (it worked but not as i expected)

Second test deleted only exchange 2003 server and tried to reinstall it has not worked for me.

Why did it not work as you had expected?

Does it automatically setup routing goups between the two servers, as it did when installing Exchange 2007 into an Exchange 2003 organization?
