This is my first post with MsExchange so bare with me. On my Global Address list all of my recipients are @dukcorp.com for the ones that are not the default @dukcorp.com i cannot send them HTML messages. They are only able to receive plain text from me. If i send a email to someone that is not in my global address list then I can successfully send them HTML messages. My format all messages is set to HTML so i am able to successfully receive and send HTML messages. Is there some sort of issue with recipients not having the same @ location?

Short answer is no - there is nothing set by default that would stop you from sending messages in anything other than plain text. If I was being particularly picky then I would point out that all email is plain text anyway, just with formatting information.

When you try to send an email in another format other than plain text, what happens? Does this apply to other users or just you? What happens if you use OWA to send a message?

Simon.

When I sent a message in a HTML format to other users with the same domain as me @dukcorp.com it sends it as a HTML. When I send a message in HTML formate to users in my global list without the @dukcorp.com it automatically converts it to plain text.

What about the other questions - such as what happens from OWA and is the problem unique to you?

Simon.

The problem happens to everyone with the @dukcorp.com that tries to send anything to the other people in our global address list without the same @ location. I am doing a test run with OWA and will let you know in a minute what happens with that.

The only thing I can think of is either a setting on the Remote Domains tab, or an Transport rule has been configured. Certainly something has been changed from the default, because Exchange does not normally do that.

The only other thing it could be is an antivirus or antispam tool is disrupting the message and not putting it back correctly and therefore stripping it of its formatting information.
