Status: offline 		Can anyone help me. I am having problems getting Exchange 2000 started after a re-install. I can not start the Serice System Attendant.

Status: offline 		Still no luck. If I uninstall Exchange and reinstall will I lose all of the data ?

If you make a backup of the edb and stm files you will habe a backup of all exchange data.

It is not at all certain that a reinstall will get the SA to start. SA needs to communicate with the active directory and if AD has problems a reinstall of exchange might not solve the problem.

What is the error message logged by the SA in the application log when you try to start the service?

Status: offline 		I encountered same problem, after i ran the setup /disasterrecovery it got stack on STARTING MSExchangeSA.
