I am running Exchange 2000. I have it set to purge deleted mailboxes after 3 days. recently, a user left the company and her profile was deleted. Her mailbox has not been marked for deletion and it has been 13 days. Running Mailbox Cleanup doesn't help. I recreated the profile but, since it is not marked for deletion, i am unable to reconnect.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Not a valuable sugesstion though but i think you can try this out
goto the active directory users and computers MMC
in the users where you have the account of the employee who left right click it in the menu you would find exchange tasks clik that you would be called on a dailogue box click next and the you would have options on deleting the mailboxes or if the options shows move mailboxes then move it to another server and then do the same this should really delete the mail box completely

its just a lab tested sugesstion no gaurantee

Hello,
I really count on the information you can provide me since i make a log of all the errors here to have information handy so that i can really help anyone or myself when landed in the same trouble
I would highly appricieate if you could get back to me with some feedback
Also my next suggestion would be try using Acyive directory clean UP agent
