I have an Exchange 2000 and I am using BE 8.6 to backup my mailboxes but recently my backup fails due to the following error "Cannot backup directory SystemMailbox{guid #}. Does it mean that my store is corrupted? Can anybody tell me what to do? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Possibly...do/did you have anything accessing the M drive? Do not have AV scan (328841) the M drive (I suggest removing it -> (305145).

Use those numbers to look at http://support.microsoft.com/

Thank you for the reply. I have read the articles that you mentioned.

My Exchange 2000, Backup Exec and NAV were installed 2 yrs ago (but never actually played with it) and I checked if VAPI was installed and it was. I was able to run our backup for about two years without any problem at all. I am currently running Win2K with SP3. I am looking forward to install SP4 but not until I have a full backup of my exchange.

I noticed the problem just two weeks ago and I�ve trying to find answer/s of why. If I checked the M drive, the mailboxes are there. Another thing I have read an article suggesting that System manager must be installed on to the backup server to be able to backup my exchange store.

Please help.
