Cannot delete outbound queued messages

I have inherited and am "managing" an Exchange 2003 SBS server and keep getting the administrative messages

"A large number of messages are pending in the e-mail server send queue."

I've gone into the send queues and have been able to delete all of the messages that have the "Sender" field populated. However, A LOT of the messages do not have the "Sender" field populated and I cannot remove those messages. The domains to which many of the messages are intended do not exist. The messages have "presumably" expired. I've tried Delete (without DNR) as well as Freezing and Deleting (without DNR.)

Any suggestions for removing these messages...um...gracefully?

Please advise.

Status: online 		Depending if it is already pass to the Cat. Try stopping the virtual server and then go to the queue and see if it is in there.
