Where is your DNS MX record pointing to externally? If you let me know your domain then I can check fo you

Okay this is what I get back from an MX query:
vertscape.com mx preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.vertscape.com

mail.vertscape.com = 213.132.53.165

I can successfully telnet to this address on port 25 and submit a message. Did you get the message is this IP address correct?

Does your Exchange server that is connected to the internet have an IP address of 213.132.53.165? Because this is where mails for your domain are going to and are being accepted for delivery

In which case mail is been handed off to your Exchange server from the internet. Do you have any queues on your SMTP connector? Do you have any errors in your event log? Have you turned up diagnostic logging on the SMTP virtual server?

First place to look would be in ESM under the Queues container on your Exchange server that hosts the SMTP connector to the outside world

Next step would be to turn up protocol logging on the SMTP virtual server, under protocols of the server drill down to SMTP right click the virtual server and properties. Enable logging and select all attributes. Send a message from outside to in and then look at the log file should be on c:\windows\system32\smptsvc\

But what are the logs saying are their any entries from external connections? Or do you see just outbound connections? I can attach to your mail server from the internet and submit a message, so they must be going somewhere

Nope have no idea as I don't have any idea what your third party software does. The mails should reside in the various NTFS folders associated with the SMTP service
