Guys, I need your help.
Am installing Exchange server 2007 for the first time and am having serious issues. I installed Hub and Edge Transport servers by following the instructions. However, I can send and receive mails internally and can also send mails to internet.
The main problem is that I cannot receive mails from internet. When I use message tracking tool on edge transport server, i see entries for SEND and RECEIVE events.

Can someboby please help me out of this issue.

Thanks.

Hi,

On a first look it may come from :

either a non-Exchange feature (ISA/proxy/firewall/...) who prevents only SMTP incoming from Internet => verify the rest of your non-Exchange environment parameters;

or a problem of Internet Receive connector parameters (maybe authentication type/clients or client addresses) => verify if your message tracking tool displays Receive events from Internet computers to Edge. If not, seems the problem is here;

or a problem of  Internet-to-org Send connector : your edge receives emails but do not send (forward) them to the local network's hub servers => verify the size of transport queue on the edge and that  you cannot  notice Send events from Edge to Local hub although you have Receive events from Internet to Edge;

or a problem of AD=>ADAM synchronization : your adam database is really involved in transport/antispam agent rules and routing;

or event a simple problem of Authorized domain, if your local messaging domain isn't created (should be with ADAM sync), the Edge cannot autorize inbound flow.

Hope it will help you.

Hi Shadock ,
Thanks a lot for your response.
I eventually found out what caused it. It was McAfee Webshield.
After uninstalling McAfee Webshield, the mails started flowing in both directions.

It was quite an experience!!!

Thanks.
