Hey guys,

Facing a bit of a problem here, I was wondering if anyone had any advice.

We have a customer that runs a simple SBS 2003 box with exchange. Recently a fresh reinstall was done on this server. They do a full backup of all data, including the exchange store everynight.
My problem I'm facing is, the server used to be called "SERVER", however when it was formatted and re-installed, it's been called SBS-SERVER. When I try to restore the database from the external hdd it fails, and writes an event log (Event 9635) which basically says that the database cannot be found (SERVER).

It is possible to restore this database onto a server with a different name?

I'm starting to think my only hope is to build another server in a test environment and call it SERVER then restore the backup to it.

try this
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.exchange.admin/browse_thread/thread/5f8250124c308da5
and this
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997006(EXCHG.65).aspx

For me I would build a temp server (original name) restore the data, migrate data to the new server, remove temp server. Unless there is a better way....
