I'm preparing to decomission one E2K7 server in favor of another (Actually going from trial 32 bit to productoin 64 bit..)

My old server (Antigua) had Mailbox, Hub Transport, and Client Access rolses on it. My new server (Caicos) has the same roles.

Last night I moved the information store from Antigua to Caicos and that seems to be working well. All clients can see their mailboxes and such.

However, messages sent are hanging up in a queue on Caicos. I have one connector defined (on Antigua) that goes to the Internet and one connector defined that goes to our Domino domain for co-existance.  Mail is in the queue for the proper send connector on , it just gets stuck. A few hours later users get a generic message from postmaster@domain stating that mail has been delayed and does not give a specific reason as to why.

I ran the troubleshooting wizard and it has an option for "Mail is stuck in queues" but it seems to be geared toward 2000/2003 and 2007 co-existance. I ran it anyway and it told me that there was an error authenticating between the Exchange servers, but I don't know if this is useful in this scenario.

Do I have to define new send connectors on my new server since it has a hub transport role?

I'm stuck..  Any help appreciated!

Solved..

My default receive connector on my old server didn't have Exchange Auhentication enabled. To do this though I had to change the FQDN string from the external name to the internal name.

I guess in the future I'm going to have to create a seperate connector to face the Internet to have the proper FQDN displayed to Internet hosts.
