Ok so Im just about to do an Exchange 5.5 > 2000 migration for about 100 users.
Im going to physically remove the exchange 5.5 server form the building so im going to be using a completely different server for exchange and windows 2000.

When I have moved all the exchange users onto the exchange 2000 server I will need to tell the outlook clients the name of the new server. Could this be done with a vb login script, if so does anyone have any code ideas. I dont want to point the old server name to the new server in dns Smile

You're doing this by the "Mailbox Move" method in ADU&C rather than any manual or exmerge type method? Make sure you leave the Exchange 5.5 server up and running for a week or so, just long enough for people to come back off leave and logon to email once.
Anyone you don't catch will have to be updated manually but most users will get their Outlook profiles updated automatically.
