Afternoon folks,
Is it possible that when someone adds a new appointment to the Company Calendar public folder that a notification e-mail could be sent to the receptionist/boss etc?

Try creating a rule on the PF by going to the properties of that PF, folder assistant button. If that doesn't work, then you will have to look for third party scripts and utilities. Here's one example, there are others out there as well.
