Hi,
I have an exchange 2010 server in coexistence with exchange 2003.
Internal user can send and receive mail with outlook 2007. Owa works fine. But when external users use outlook to send and receive mail something goes wrong. They can send mail perfectly but they can't receive mail. In outlook you have an option to test the account that test runs perfectly. Outlook says that pop is good and smtp is good. But when i press send/receive outlook sends mails but gives an error:

error (0x800ccc0f): connection with the server is interrupted. If the problem still exists, please contact your administrator or ISP.

I'm in the dark here. I don't know what the problem is.
On Exchange 2010 i have some event error logs:

I'm pretty new to exchange, so please be clear in your answer.
I know that somebody else posted about the watson report but there was no reaction on it.
Thanks in advanced for looking in to it.

You will need a POP3 connector.
This has nothing really to do with Exchange since Exchange doesn't
collect POP.
See "POPCON" (google it) and see if it will meet your requirements.

Are you planning on having these five email addresses send mail to the
other ones at the ISP? You could be in for some trouble if you are.

I use POPCON in the lab. It's nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing to do
with Exchange. POPCON will collect the email and tip it all at the
SMTP interface on the Exchange server. Once it's on the SMTP interface
it's SMTP and is therefore not a problem because it's SMTP and is
therefore fine and dandy.

This should be fixed in Exch2010 Rollup 2.

Only occurs on a mailbox that was migrated from Exch2003.

If you create an Exch2010 mailbox for testing, the issue won't occur.

The workaround is to export the mailbox, drop the mailbox and recreate a new one for each user in Exch2010, and then import their mail.

Not an option if you have 400 newly migrated users with this issue.

However, Exch2010 Rollup 2 should be released in the next couple of days.

Just curious if we're still waiting on this fix...
In the mean time, might it be possible to modify this migration script:
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Migrating_POP3_SMTP_Servers_M_Drive.html

In such a way as to work with the person who is facing the daunting task of manually rebuilding 400 mailboxes?

The script is aimed at mass migrations in 2003, but might be applicable in newer versions.
