Good day,

I'm reletively new to Exchange, I'm trying to connect my exchange server to Internet. It currenlty works well but on my intranet only. Unable to send or receive mail to/from the Internet.
I do not know if this changes anything but my Exchange server on my internal network (192.168.0.x)
and I have a Linux box as a gateway.

Does my Exchange server need to be connected direcly on the net for it to work or can I leave it the way it is?

Don't know the details, but you can probably keep it the way it is. E2k doesn't need to have direct access to Net. You could set up E2k to Forward mail to a Smart Host (Sendmail on Linux?). You would have to have an MX record somewhere, so people external to your lan could resolve your smtp domain.
