hi Ali

we have an SMTP server as our frontend Server which is behind Firewall (ISA 2000 ) & this SMTP server forwards messages to Exchange Server 2000 in our organization ,we get the below warning message for some remote domains not all of them , i tried telnetting to one of the remote domain & it was susscessfull ,i want to know that what causes this problem .

I'd test it by manually creating a message using telnet:
http://exchangeguy.blogspot.com/2007/06/using-telnet-to-simulate-server.html

Look for the responses from the other server that are not "OK".  That will give you a clue as to what is happening.

hi
i was able to telnet to the server but still getting the error & also the below error on our ISA 2K server exist :
we are getting below error on our ISA 2K from SMTP server .
SMTP filter is enabled on ISA but i can't find any smtp data to add on ISA2k to add on our SMTP filter.
sometimes we get 'Connection Was Dropped By Remote host ' on SMTP server logs.thanks for your help in advance: *************************************************************Event Type: Error

i still get the below error on my Mail Relay Server :

i telnetted to yahoo.com domain on port 25 & was able to send email with no problem .
i will define my network topology below.
+ a windows 2000 domain exist which consist of 3 Exchange servers ( 2 of the exchange 2000 & 3rd is exchange 2003 ) all of them are in one routing group send emails to the Local Bridgehead (Exchange 2000 server) & this server sends email to our Mail Relay Server (SMTP Server ,Windows 2003,also GFI Mailessential & Security exist on the server ) which resides in DMZ & finally this server sends emails to other SMTP servers Worldwide via ISA 2000 server which allows access to Mail Relay Server & all IP protocols are open for it.

i wish that this help.
