Hi,

I am using Exchange 2003 server. Now I have the problem with some specific domain to send email. The message is queued in the queue list and can nout route to destination server. And it is bounce back after one day to sender with undelivery report with "message could not send in time limitation". When I check the status of the message in the queue, it is said "The connection was dropped by remote host". What could be the problem?

I will be appreciated if you can help me.

Thank you,

MTK

What anti-Virus you are running? Please check if you have internet e-mail protect or auto-protect enabled? This may be installed on your mail server or on your firewall server. there is something that looks like "Internet E-mail Auto Protect" or "Internet E-mail Protection" please disable this and then test sending your emails again, If you run Symantec products like Symantec Mail security for Exchange Server, double check that also.

Hi,
Thanks for reply.
Yes I am using Symantec Mail security. Is it safe for me if I disable it.

Ia2em,

Now I already disable auto protect in symantec mail security. But message still could not route to that domain.
Any idea?

Thanks,

Hi MTK,
Did you check your Anti-Virus ( Symantec i guess) autoprotect? I had absolutely the same issue and it was solved this way.
Thanks,

Ia2em,

Did u mean symantec auto protect? I am using Symantec corporated edition and there is no autoprotect for email. Only for "File System auto protect". I think I sould not disable file system auto protect.

Please advice me bcoz this is the first time I am using symantec.

Hey MTK,
What Symantec corporate edition do you sue? 10? then you find the email autoprotect under configure.
It is there and it is always with Symantec Anti-virus .

Let me know please if it will solve the problem, in my case it did, and it works fine

Hello Friends,

Same problem now i am facing.. emails are getting stuck in queue specially emails send to yahoo address. sometimes there is no problem with connection status.. but after keeping an eye for 2 days i found out connection dropped issue.
after looking out in google i found http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1103760&page=1 which has some information which is going beyond my thinking power.

If some of our experts can put light on it, and help us to find out exact solution it will be really helpful.

regards,
Wasim.
