 Hi,

We are getting the message "Could not start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service on Local Computer".  Error: 1068

Any idea or suggestions on this.  When I try to start it in services this comes up.

:(  Thanks.

I'm having the same problem, along with other important services that aren't running. It's preventing the Exchange Server from running, very frustrating.

Hiya Folks,

There should be addtional information in the Application Event log which relates to this error - could you post that data.

Also, can you ensure that the following services are started;

MSExchange System attendant
Event Log
NT LM Security Support Provided
Remote Procedure Call
Server
Workstation

Cheers

A

First Disable the AV, follow the Reg hack below

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\VirusScan
Set enabled to 0 to disable the AV.
Try to mount it,
also,
Uninstall  the AV software and try to mount  IS

Did Exchange server improper shutdown or power off before?  If yes, database may be corrupted.  Please use "eseutil /mh Database.edb" to check database status.

I have similar error before, I need to perform Exchange disaster recovery to repair files.  The command is "setup.exe /disasterrecovery".  After it completed recovery, please re-apply Exchange service pack.

Running a Disaster Recovery Setup:-

Hello every one...

To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps :)

1-    Click Start, and then click Run.
2-    In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3-    In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey in the registry:
4-    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\VirusScan
5-    In the right pane, double-click Enabled.
6-    Click Decimal, type 0 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
7-    On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
8-    And start the Information Store NOW.
