Is it possible to create a public calender? That is, can I have one calender that everyone can see but only selected users can manipulate? If so, how do I do this? Thanks.

Create a new public folder and set the "Folder Contains" to be Appointment Items, when you have created the folder if you open the properties in Outlook and then go to the Permissions tab, you can setup who is allowed to modify it from there.
Hope this helps

Being that I am very green at this whole thing I'm going to ask this question. How do I make a new public folder? Is it on the server or on each machine? I know these may sound like trival questions but like I said, I'm as green as anyone one can get and got left a big mess (I think). Thanks for the help.

You can actually create public folders in the Microsoft Exchange System Manager on the server or in the e-mail client (Microsoft Outlook).
Easiest Poscedure:
You would expand Public Folders and right click All Public Folders then choose create new folder and set the "folder contains" to appointment and then ok. Right click the new folder then click permissions in Microsoft Outlook.
System Manager Procedure:
You would right click Public Folders then choose new then public folder. Name it and click OK or change the settings you would like to. To set the permissions by using Microsoft Exchange System Manager on the server right click the Folder you created and click properties then select the Permissions tab. Click the client permissions button and modify as neccesary. Open the e-mail client (Outlook) go to the new public folder and right click then select properties. Now you would have to change the Folder Contains from posts to appointments by clicking forms in the drop down box and the selecting appointment.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Amy,
I'm real close to getting it to work. One thing though...Is there a way to make a private appointment in the calendar? Also, in your explaination before you mentioned changing the Folder COntains from Posts to Appointments. Well, I can't seem to do this. There is no where for me to change it.There is no active drop down box where I can change it from posts to appointments. I'm more curious on this one than anything. If you know of a way to make private appointments/events that will be much better. I have it working but just need to figure this last thing out. Thanks.
