I tried the open another user's mailbox through Advanced account option using open additional mailbox in Outlook 2007. I have complete admin rights on whole exchange. When Outlook 2007 was opening other users folder, it hanged then I End task from task manager and then remove the additional mailbox option from control panel mail icon.
But very strange things started, any email send to that particular user is also start appearing in my inbox. Its very strange for me and making so many legal issues.
Can anybody help me to over come this issue?

Have you been successful in opening the additional mailbox afterwards this "crash/hang"? What happens? The thought here was to close the extra mailbox properly.

Also try starting Outlook (at least your mailbox but preferrably both) in Safe Mode "Outlook.exe /safe" and the close and start it again. Any difference in behaviour?

First, check Message Tracking to see if Exchange sees the messages being delivered to your mailbox.

Are the messages also being delivered to the boss's mailbox?

Check the boss's user object in AD Users & Computers to make sure there isn't any forwarding set up.

Check the boss's mailbox rules to make sure there isn't any forwarding set up.

If this is really related to a crashed Outlook profile, what happens if you recreate it?  What happens if you run Outlook from a different workstation?

Are the messages also being delivered to the boss's mailbox?
(Yes)

Check the boss's user object in AD Users & Computers to make sure there isn't any forwarding set up. (No forwarding in AD users property).

Check the boss's mailbox rules to make sure there isn't any forwarding set up. (No rules at all)

If this is really related to a crashed Outlook profile, what happens if you recreate it?  What happens if you run Outlook from a different workstation?

I am using my profile as usual without any problem. I tried running from other computers even OWA as well. But still my boss emails are also reaching my inbox

Kindly advise?

Check your Boss's outlook rules and see if there are any that are re-directing any mail to you.

I checked his outlook. There is not a single rule even for anything.

One thing amazing I found. If the sender is using Outlook RPC client to send email to boss, then it will not reach me. But if someone is using IMAP or POP via SMTP then it reached my mailbox. I am also using GFI MailEssential.

If you look at the E-mail Header do you see anything out of the ordinary.

I.e. because the e-mail is also being delivered to you are you sure something like GFI is not doing this and if is than there might be an extra step in the header indicating this.

There are no rules in GFI Mailessentials that are forcing e-mails to be BCC to you?

Can you also confirm if this happens with standard MAPI access via Outlook.

Or it is specifically only POP and SMTP only.

I checked the headers my email address is not in To, but still I received his email. Specially when he receive from public and clients who are using POP and IMAP. If somebody send using MAPI outlook then it will not reach my mailbox. I checked the GFI all rules one by one. There is nothing like BCC or any field which is showing that email will be forwarded to you. By the way its only happening with Boss email all other users are working normally.

That means the e-mails are beeing BCC to you which are for your Boss. Hence they dont appear in your header.

Do you have SMTP level logging switched on.

As this happens with SMTP submitted mail as opposed to Outlook via MAPI/RPC or OWA this is where the cause would probably be.

Hence check the smtp logs for the SMTP server which is configured to receive mail for the POP and IMAP client. Search for your e-mail address in there and hopefully this should shed some light.

I switched ON the SMTP level logging. Then after looking inside the SMTP log file I didn't find my email at all. But still I received email which has been sent to boss. In logging its showing only sent To: my boss email.
Its very strange and annoying.

You are looking at the right SMTP Server logging?

Do you have any other SMTP servers (not just Exchange)...

When people use POP3 and IMAP what is the SMTP server they use. Check this SMTP server out.

I have only one SMTP Server. All internal and external email is getting routed by this SMTP Server. I have only one Exchange 2003 with default SMTP server thats all. For sure I am looking in right log thats why I can see the email sent to my boss at the same time it appears in my mailbox also.

Imran

I had this happen before.  All I did was remove the SMTP connector, save, and re-entered the SMTP of my ISP and all is well.

But Dear if my problem is due to SMTP Connector then why it is only with one user. Whats logic behind this? I will appreciate your all's help. Is there any other solution?

You're right.  What I had encountered was not the same; similar realm I guess.  But it wouldn't hurt to try it right?

Finally I found the cause. Actually this is my own mistake which I don't know when I did, in GFI MailEssential there was a email monitoring rule which was sending boss emails to my mailbox. Ahaaa.
I really appreciate all of yours help. Thanks a lot for all of your time.

That was one of the questions i had asked...obviously such a rule does not happen automatically so you may wish to investigate how it happened.

Finally get your team to document all changes...it takes only a very small config change to cause big issues...especially when it is forgotten.

Glad its all resolved now.
