I have a question regarding display names. My server is a Windows 2008 R2 x64 running Exchange 2010. Here is my ultimate goal, and I can't seem to find the right arrangement to make it work. We have a webmaster address (Call it webmaster@domain.com) In our GAL we want it to read Webmaster. When a person that has "send on behald" rights sends an email as webmaster, we want the sender field to read "Generic Name". Basically so people recieving emails aren't recieving them from a generic webmaster address. So far I have been able to accomplish sending the email with the "generic name" showing up as the sender. By setting the DisplayName to "Generic Name" the sender shows up like that....however it changed the GAL entry to "Generic Name". I would like to keep the GAL entry as webmaster, so internal folks know the address. The main goal of this is we want to set several distribution groups to have the same "Generic Name" sender, but have their unique names in the GAL. Hopefully this all makes sense. Thank you for your suggestions.
