Hi there we are using exchange 2007 in our network and I am facing a issue for distributing e-mail from external domain to our local distribution group. According to the scenario i've creaded the group ABC to distribute the e-mail which is working well internally, So for the external domains i've created a user XYZ and check the option to forward all incoming mails to ABC but when anybody try to send e-mail from external domain like yahoo, gmail it doesn't come instead a error message comes back to external mail.

Are you trying to work on a situation similar to the link given below ? http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF015.html quote:

So what this means that if some one internally sends an email to Group ABC - the mails gets forwarded to user XYZ (xyz@externaldomain.com) however when some one from yahoo sends an email from yahoo / gmail to your group - the message does not get forwarded to XYZ ???

Thanks alot for the quick reply i think need to explain more. Well the scenario is if any body send any e-mail to ABC each member of ABC will receive a copy of this mail....... internally as a member of the domain or user of I can send email directly to this group but externally if i am a gmail user in this situation i will not be able to send any email to ABC. So I've created e-mail address XYZ and ABC is in the forwarder of XYZ when ever anybody send e-mail to XYZ it will go to ABC so all the member of ABC should receive the copy of that e-mail........ but it doesn't works .... instead my exchange 2007 generate a error message and sends back to the external e-mail.

Is XYZ a group / contact ? What if you remove ABC from the forwarding list and then try to email to XYZ - does the email get delivered ? Can you share with us the error message which the server generates ? Also, try checking the SMTP logs and check whats Exchange HUB role actually toying with and why ?

On the distribution group properties (in ur EMC) go to the link and un-check the box highlighted. Now, check if Exchange allows mail delivery from outside your organization.

Hi, I was in the same situation and this helped me as well. Thank You for your post. Is there any way to make a policy to make this default? Thanks again.
