Hello Experts, This seems to be something abnormal to me after changing path of EDB and STM files. Recently I changed the server of exchange and 1st on restoring from backup both log files and database files were on same drive (raid0+1). after successful restoration and all things seems to be wrking, I changed the databse path to raid5. after changing the path I noted down the file size of edb and stm files and also the modified date. but till now both things i.e. size and modified date is unchanged. All users seems to be working perfectly. Maintainence process of exchange is working perfect. I even tried taking backup, full backup and incremental backup, both went through perfectly. It has been 4 days since i changed the hardware but still the database size seems to be intact without a single MB increase. Server is having 4GB RAM with 2 Processor, with 3GB switch enabled. Please give me some suggestions on this behaviour. Thanks.

Is it whitespace that is being used?

Yes. As long as there is enough whitespace to accept a new message, the file size won't change and therefore the modified date won't change.

Hi Uemurad, Thanks for your helpful post. I will keep a track on this and will update this post as I see increase in size and modified date. by the way, can we see the event being logged for log files when they get written to edb? as this will help me to relax myself more seeing data getting written :-D

Ok, the most recent 1221 event shows 508MB of freespace. I guess this will help me to keep track, as database will get populated this size should become less and less.
