Hiya folks - any info on how to perhaps merge in PST data to Exchange 2007 - I know that on EHLO the Exchange team were canvassing opinion on EXMERGE, but I have a test instance of EX 2007 but no means to import existing data from PST which is a little bit of a bummer - thanks. Andy

Exchange Server 2007 doesn't support ExMErge, you instead need to use the Exchange Management Shell Export-Mailbox cmdlet or the Move Mailbox wizard can be used to perform the necessary mailbox tasks. Isn't the Move Mailbox Wizard an option in your scenario? If not you need to use the Outlook Import PST feature.

Hiya Henrik, Essentially I am trying to export some data (my mailbox) from my Live Environment (EX 2003) into my dev environment (EX 2007) - The Exchange team cam back to me last night (on EHELO) and explained that I would have to use Outlook itself to do this, but I am going to attempt something in my lab today. I wish to do this as I would like to have a realistic sized mailbox in my Dev environment. I'll let you know how I get on. Andy

Found a workaround for anyone wishing to clone data from a production 2003 system into Exchange 2007 dev lab. In your Exchange Lab before you install Exchange 2007 - setup a Exchange 2003 server, create the mailboxes that you wish to use EXMERGE with on the 2003 box and then merge in the PST data. Then Install Exchange 2007 into the Organisation and move the mailboxes from the 2003 server to the 2007 server. Not sure how much use to anyone that will be, but it has helped me out. Andy

Hiya mate, What I did was create a Exchange 2003 environment with some dummy mailboxes. I then did an EXMERGE of a number of Mailboxes from my production environment and imported them into my Lab EX2003 domain. I then installed an Ex 2007 server into the lab 2003 organisation and then performed a move mailbox to the Ex 2007 server - if you need any further info let me know. A

The Move Mailbox Wizard is of course a method to do this, but let's see whether MS will include an Import-Mailbox cmdlet in the RTM version, I know many people have asked for this option.

Its interesting that you should say that as I know that the Dev team on EHLO ran a survey of people using EXMERGE, for what purpose and how regular which kinda intimated to me that they were considering implementing some kind of tool that offers comparable functionality to EXMERGE - I for one hope so!
