We recently installed Exchange 2007. We have an Edge in the DMZ, and a HUB on our internal network. Incoming e-mail just sits in the Queue on the Edge, that is destined for the HUB. The Edge queue is also filled up with undeliverables, and when I remove and undeliverable and send an NDR, it never gets sent to the sender. Outgoing emails are delivered just fine through the Edge. I did a little testing in the Powershell on the Edge. On the Edge I ran the command: Get-queue –sortOrder:-MessageCount-Results:1|f1 and I get this: 451 4.4.0 primary target IP address responded with 421 4.2.1 unable to connect. attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts

You are so awsome. That did it. I also had to add the IP to the host file on the Edge. And I have another question regarding the Host file, as I'm not completely sure it is correct. For the Host file on the Edge, is it correct that we need to enter the published IP for the HUB Server, such as 65.141.197.199, and then the FQDN like: edge.int.bud-sales.net? I tried the internal IP, and just the name, but that did not work. For example I tried the Host entry: 10.2.1.90 edge But it did not work. So I used: 65.141.197.199 edge.int.bud-sales.net and it worked. Anyhow, it is working now. Thank you so much.
