We are running Exchange 2007 and have some Macs that should be able to access Outlook via Entourage. The mailboxes themselves are on Exchange 2003 mailbox servers, we just want to test out Entourage accessing mailboxes via the CAS server.
I am using instructions from here to install WebDAV on IIS7
Downloaded and installed WebDAV 7.5 for IIS 7.0 IIS7 Manager > WebDAV Authoring rules > Enable WebDAV
There is mention of WebDAV authoring rules in the article. Do I need to set one up? If so, does anyone know what permissions I need to set etc?
Within Entourage, I am using setting the Exchange server as the hostname of the Client Access Server.
Unless I tick the "This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)", then I cannot see any emails. Is this to be expected with Exchange 2007? However, whenever I try and send emails I get an errot saying Entourage is unable to access the mail account.
Also, I cannot see any Public Folders using Entourage?
There might be that your entourage database have some corruption issue and need rebuild using a entourage repair tool such as stellar entourage recovery software: http://www.entourage-repair.com/
I hate Macs in an enterprise environment. They're a pain to deal with...although the new Outlook for Mac 2011 is pretty good. It's almost (or is) like outlook over HTTPS (outlook anywhere, RPC over HTTPS, whatever you want to call it). SSL is usually required in the CAS settings for virtual directories...all but /OAB i think should have SSL required.
For public folders, the address should be casserver.domain.com/public. Reading that second link, someone said just putting the casserver.domain.com in the server address without the /exchange or /public vdirs got things working.
Make sure you get the latest version of Entourage 2008 (patches, etc) just in case it's a weird client thing.

What exactly you are looking for? Is it that you want to test Entourage client for Exchange 2007? If yes than you can move the mailbox on 2007 server and check it.
About Public Folder issue, you will have replicate them first on 2007 and than try to access it, there shouldn't be any issue.
Cheers,

If Entourage database corrupted that means RGE file damaged & loss all emails, contacts, address books, notes from Entourage ( .RGE ) file. Fortunately we have solution available to repair damaged file by Entourage Database Recovery tool to recover or restore email data.
